Judgement

Above and below do not understand each other, and communication is cut. This is an unfavorable time for someone who wants to act with integrity: their efforts find no echo. The great has gone and the small has arrived. Forcing does not help here. Ask yourself what you can look after in the meantime, and what you lose if you insist on convincing someone who does not want to listen. Sometimes it helps to wait for circumstances to change.

Image

Heaven and earth separate, with no communication. Each goes its own way and nothing is born between them. For times like these, hold back what you are: do not show your worth to someone who cannot appreciate it, and so avoid the troubles that lie in wait. This is not a time to shine or to look for recognition. Keep yourself safe, look after what is essential and do not expose yourself without need.

Lines

Line 1

You pull up one blade of grass and others come with it, joined by the same root. If you stay firm and upright, it tends to go well. Even in a time of obstacles, you are not alone when you act with those who share your root. Look after those bonds.

Line 2

You are patient and compliant, which makes sense in hard times. For someone with little power, calm endurance is a good sign. For someone with more weight, calm and no arrogance make it possible to get through. Giving way today is not giving up. Ask yourself when it is prudent to adapt, and when you are simply giving up.

Line 3

You feel shame about the purpose you carry in your chest. It is a private discomfort, carrying inside something that weighs on you when everything is blocked. Ask yourself why that purpose shames you and whether it truly deserves that shame, or whether it is the hard moment that makes you feel it.

Line 4

You act as the moment asks, and you are unlikely to go wrong. Your companions come to share the good. Being faithful to what really needs doing draws those who think alike. Ask yourself whether what you do answers what the situation needs or what you want to prove.

Line 5

You are the one who ends the obstruction, a person of weight, and it works in your favor. But do not get overconfident: repeat to yourself, "we may be lost, we may be lost." That awareness of risk keeps everything firm, as if tied to a clump of mulberry shoots. Whoever remembers that everything can fall builds with more care.

Line 6

The obstruction is torn down: there was a time of blockage and now it ends. Joy may come afterward. If you have gone through a stage of silence or waiting, you start to notice it giving way. Do not force it. Recognize what you have learned and let joy arrive in its own time.

Reflection

  1. With whom are you trying to communicate when the moment does not allow it?
  2. Which part of yourself are you keeping back that deserves a better place?
  3. What have you learned in this time of blockage that you could not have learned without it?
